Privacy policy

Last updated: 29 August 2026

This policy explains how pancreatitis.eu handles personal data. The site is an information resource about pancreatitis. It is not medical advice and is not a substitute for a doctor. For severe abdominal pain, call 112 or go to emergency care. See also the Medical disclaimer.

Who is responsible

The operator of pancreatitis.eu is the data controller for this website.

If you have a privacy question, use the contact details published on this site or write to the site operator. Do not send medical questions or health records by email.

What this site does (and does not do)

  • We publish general information about pancreatitis, with named sources.
  • We do not diagnose, treat, or give personal medical advice.
  • We do not sell your data.
  • We do not run advertising networks or Google Ads / AdSense.
  • We do not ask you to create an account to read the pages.

Data we may process

Server and security logs

The hosting provider (GoDaddy Managed WordPress) may keep technical logs (IP address, browser type, time of request) as needed to run and secure the site. This is based on legitimate interest in keeping the site available and safe.

Analytics (Google Analytics 4 and Koko Analytics)

After you accept statistics cookies we may use:

  • Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-FDMG0RXFJB), provided by Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC. It helps us see how the public pages are used (for example page views and traffic sources). Google may process data on servers outside the EU, using its own safeguards. The Site Kit plugin places the Google tag only after consent. Logged-in site editors are excluded from Analytics.
  • Koko Analytics, a first-party tool that runs on our own WordPress site and counts page views in aggregate.

If you reject statistics, these tools should not load. You can change your choice later via the cookie settings link.

Search Console

We use Google Search Console so we can see how the site appears in Google Search (queries, clicks, indexing). That is an operator tool. It does not place an extra tracking script on the public pages.

Embedded videos (YouTube)

Some pages can show educational videos hosted by YouTube (Google). Those embeds can set cookies and send data to Google. They load only if you accept marketing / embedded content in the consent banner. Until you accept, you will see a placeholder instead of the player.

Consent banner

We use Complianz to store your cookie choice (necessary) and to block statistics and YouTube until you accept.

Contact forms

If you send a message through a form, we process the details you type (for example name and email) to read and reply. Do not include health records. Legal basis: your request (steps prior to a contract / legitimate interest in answering you).

Legal bases (GDPR)

  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — optional cookies, Google Analytics 4, and YouTube embeds.
  • Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — hosting, security, Search Console for the operator, and operating an information website.
  • We do not require special-category health data to use the site. Please do not submit medical files.

How long we keep data

  • Analytics aggregates are kept only as long as needed to see how the site is used.
  • Logs follow the host’s normal retention.
  • Messages you send are kept only as long as needed to handle them.

Your rights

If GDPR applies to you, you may ask to access, correct, delete, or restrict personal data we hold, object to certain processing, and withdraw consent at any time (without affecting the site pages themselves). You may also lodge a complaint with your EU/EEA supervisory authority.

Withdrawing cookie consent is done through the banner / cookie settings on this site.

Cookies

Strictly necessary cookies (if any) are used to save your consent choice. Statistics (GA4, Koko) and YouTube cookies are optional. Use Accept, Reject, or Preferences on the banner.

Children

This site is written for adults. It is not directed at children.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top will change when we do.

Medical notice

Nothing in this policy changes the medical disclaimer. pancreatitis.eu is not medical advice.
